What does YES mean?
YES means there is at least 6 cm to spare at the tightest point, in the best way the box can go in.
Quick answers about how fit checks are computed, what the result states mean, and how to use the details on each page.
YES means there is at least 6 cm to spare at the tightest point, in the best way the box can go in.
MAYBE means it fits on paper, but with less than 6 cm to spare, so trim, the parcel shelf or the loading angle can decide it. (Not missing data.)
NO means the box is bigger than the space at its tightest point, whichever way it goes in.
From IKEA "package details" (boxed dimensions). We use the largest package and also compute per-package results when there are multiple boxes.
Each car's trunk opening and cargo-space measurements are kept in our own vehicle records. If a critical measurement is missing, we avoid publishing that vehicle page.
Send the exact fit page URL to data@carfitcheck.com and include any reliable reference (manufacturer spec or measurement screenshot).
If you want to verify a vehicle yourself, read how to measure your trunk correctly before comparing your numbers to a fit page.
Each package is checked against the boot opening and the load space in every way it can lie, including on its side and diagonally, and the best way counts. Its tightest gap decides the verdict, as defined above. The margins on a fit page are that real gap: the car's measurement minus the box's.
Published fit pages are expected to have complete core dimensions. MAYBE means borderline fit, not unknown fit.
Main fit pages are statically generated so key result text is available in HTML on first paint.
Fit is evaluated per package. Individual package fit does not always guarantee stacked simultaneous loading.
Cargo length and access geometry can differ by seat configuration, so each config is evaluated independently.
The limiting factor is the tightest measured constraint for the selected package/config, such as opening width or cargo height.
Treat MAYBE as tight but possible. Use the suggested orientation and verify the tightest point in your car before loading.
Confidence is a bounded score derived from fit margins and available dimensions, intended as a guidance signal rather than a guarantee.
Current public catalog focuses on IKEA packaged items. The same model supports other packaged products when data is available.
Pipeline data can be refreshed as new sources are parsed and exported. Versioning tracks export and engine revisions.
