Every box has to pass the A1 Sportback's boot opening: 39″ wide and 23⅝″ high above the loading sill. Inside, the floor is 37¾″ at its narrowest, so for a wide box the floor is the tighter limit. The floor is set 7⅛″ below the sill, giving 30¾″ of height above the floor, though a box has to be no taller than 23⅝″ as it goes in.
