The Kangoo's cargo area is a small van's load bay wearing a passenger badge. The mouth is 47¼″ wide × 43¾″ tall, the floor runs 40⅛″ with the bench up and 69¼″ folded (a +29⅛″ gain), and the width holds 46⅞″ clear between the wheel arches. The floor meets the sill at 22⅞″ with a 0″ drop, so a heavy box slides straight in with no lift-and-lower step. Tall boxes, wide boxes, stacked multi-box orders: this space takes them all without complaint. The one thing that beats it is sheer length, boxes well past the folded floor. Load flat and push; that flush sill is the best feature here.

At 46 lb 5 oz it is a two-hand lift, and the awkward part is the 30¾″ width, which is more than plenty of boot openings will take head on. Fold a rear seat and most hatchbacks, estates and SUVs handle it flat. Slide it in diagonally at the door so the width clears the frame, and keep the painted panel faces protected, since a crib side scratches easily.
