The Peugeot 308 gives you a hatchback boot that is short but usefully deep. The opening measures 37¾″ wide by 29⅛″ tall, and the floor runs 30¾″ with the seats up, stretching to 58¼″ once you fold the rear bench, a gain of 27½″. The narrow point of the floor is 32¼″ across, so wide flat loads sit fine, but anything past 30¾″ long needs the seats down. The load lip sits 27½″ off the ground with a 6¾″ drop to the floor, so heavy boxes take a short lift then settle low. It takes suitcases and boxed furniture well, long flat-pack less so. Fold the seats before you load, not halfway through.
