The Kodiaq gives you a long, roughly square load floor that grows a lot when you fold. Seats up you get 46½″ of floor and 39⅜″ across the narrow point; drop the rear seats and it runs to 74¾″, a gain of 28⅜″. The catch is the opening, recorded at 33⅛″ wide by 42⅛″ tall, so wide flat-pack panels can catch on the mouth even when the floor behind has room. It takes long boxes and tall loads well. The sill sits at 29⅞″ but the drop into the boot is only 4⅜″, so slide long boxes in flat and feed them past the opening on an angle.

The BRIMNES cabinet arrives as one flat box, 39″ × 16¾″ × 6″, weighing 72 lb 7 oz. The size is friendly; the weight is not. At 39″ long it clears the folded load floor of almost any car, and plenty of boots take it with the seats still up, so this is one of the easier IKEA packages to move by car. What catches you is lifting 72 lb of dense flat-pack over a sill on your own. Slide it on its long edge rather than carrying it flat, bring a second pair of hands for the kerb and the stairs, and protect the corners; chipboard shows every knock at the edges.
